What is Integrative Oncology?
Integrative Oncology is a health discipline addressed to the patient, its family and health personnel who are affected directly or indirectly by cancer. Each person is considered as multidimensional and considered in their physical, mental, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual aspects.
An interdisciplinary team uses all appropriate therapies, -whether conventional oncology, psychooncology, palliative care and complementary medicines- whose effectiveness and security are based on reliable scientific evidence, giving renewed value to the therapeutic role of human contact.
Integrative Oncology´s field of action involves prevention, diagnostic studies, treatment, post-treatment recovery and end of life care.
Integrative Oncology does not reject conventional treatment, nor does it accept complementary treatments unconditionally. |
